1. 疑問句

例 • Do you love me? 你愛我嗎？
• Does she love you? 她愛你嗎？
• Did he go to the movies? 他有去看電影嗎？

2. 否定句

例 • I don't love you. 我不愛你。
• she does not have money. 她沒有錢。

• We didn't buy anything in the market. 我們在市場什麼都沒買。
• I didn't call the police. 我沒有報警。

3. 加強語氣
例 • I do love you. 我真的愛你。

• I did pay for this. 我真的有付錢。
• He did call the police. 他真的有報警。

• She did steal my money. 她真的偷了我的錢。
• You do lie to me. 你真的騙我。

4. 代替句子前面的主要動詞
例 • I love you more than she loves you. 我比她更愛你。

I love you more than she does.

• No one loves you more than I love you. 沒人比我更愛你。
No one loves you more than I do.

三 情態助動詞的通則

1 不受主詞人稱改變。
例 • I will help you. • She will help you. • We will help you.
我會幫你。 她會幫你。 我們會幫你。

2 放在句首，成為疑問句。
例 • He will come. Will he come? 他會來嗎？

• You can drive. Can you drive? 你會開車嗎？
• You should help him. Should you help him? 你應該幫他嗎？

3 助動詞後面加上 not，成為否定句。
例 • I will help you. I will not help you. 我不會幫你。

• She may be a singer. She may not be a singer. 她不能當歌手。
• I could believe it. I couldn't believe it. 我無法相信。
